Lessons learned about the world of business from the film were: Relationships and good work ethic are keys to success, start your business while intrest rates are low, when the economy is down manufacturing is not the business to be in, if your business cannot strive in a certain location change your location, and career changes come from many different reasons rediscovered passion, more money, and greater job satisfaction to name a few.

I learned that if you don't try your best to build your business you are never going to succeed. You have to stay with it and try your best or you will just go bankrupt. I also learned that it takes money to make money in the business industry. You have to put a lot of money down to start a business but it can end up very beneficial to you if done the right way. You also have to know how to make sacrifices. You have to give up a lot of your free time to be able to start a business. You should have more free time after the business is up and running and you are making enough money to pay people to worry about everything.

I learned that if you want your business to succeed, you have to want it and put effort into it, and not just let it happen on its own. I also learned that providing a useful service that nobody else offers, you are likely to be successful and that switching your career may not be such a bad idea.

ShadyShots said...

The three keys are to go in with an opened mind because you never just because you want to go into one career doesnt mean that is the career your suppose to be in. Dont give up and if you never try then you will never know. And go in with a good attitude and a willing to work hard because you are the one that's going to be doing all the work in the beginning. peace.

Probably one of the bigger things learned from the film was that you MUST try to even succeed. Things wont just "fall in place" like we all hope that they will. You need to also keep a good positive attitude if you want people to follow you in the ways that you want, and finally you must be willing to accept responsibility.

If you have an idea, you should go for it. A lot of businesses started from a small idea and then it grows, developing into a successful business. As long as you keep an open mind and stay positive, you will most likely become successful.

I learned that building good relationships and good work ethics are big factors in having a successful business. I also learned that changing careers isn't bad. Although it may be tough during the change, it usually pays off in the long run. There can be many reasons people want a career change, such as rediscovered passion, job satisfaction, or just more money. Also with a lot of people changing careers, it gives employers a reason to treat their employees better to keep them around longer.

I learned that starting your own business is a tough financial decision but can pay off. Also, just switching your career could be as tough. It's also apparent that you may be waiting a long time for your business to take-off like 1-800-FLOWERS.

Starting your own business is never an easy or worry-free thing to do. You have to take certain risks and you must possess a large degree of patience. However, if you do work hard enough, by putting enough time, energy, and effort into it, your business can flourish. So starting a business ultimately comes down to whether or not the person can handle it.

Well, for one, I've learned that even documentary films just aren't as good without a good bag of popcorn at your side. Secondly, I've learned that starting a side business can be tough, especially if you are not in a supportive and flourishing environment. Thirdly, I've also learned that it takes a lot of business know-how to be able to make these things work, and if you have the management, leadership, and financial skills necessary, then you could go far and grow your business quickly. Oh, and fourthly, my ear itches...

1. Starting a business requires absolute dedication.

2. Many career changes occur because of a lack of motivation in the current workplace.

3. Starting a business can lead to and unlimited earning potential.

I learned that if you are trying to start a business, you're going to have to be able to do all you can in order for it to succeed. If you have an innovative idea you have a better chance of succeeding. But if your ideas are not innovative there's still a chance, it just requires more work. But after a while it should end up being a profitable investment.

The 1-800-Flowers CEO used ideas that nobody else had at the time, such as 24 hour service and using credit cards over the phone. These two ideas really boosted his business over the competition who weren't available at those times or didn't provide those services. Don't believe that it requires huge capital to start a business, you can succeed with little and fail with lots. Everything depends on how well you organize, design and run the business. Leaving a company for something that is actually fulfilling is a viable option. Many "successful" business people are doing this because their current jobs leave them with a bad taste in their mouth.

The 1800 flowers guy was cool. Even though he didn't plan to go into the flower business as a young man he did use planning to help the business grow by using phone ordering and online ordering.

I think the switching careers thing was interesting. I think it is good that older people are taking the initiative to go back to school and get a job that they would like better, however I hope that doesn't happen to me.

I want rely paying attention to to the tie guys so I don't have a comment on that.

1) Starting a business with a new product or service gives one the advantage of tapping into untouched markets.
2) A passion for something new usually motivates one to change careers.
3) "Passion" is one of the key ingredients in starting a business.
4) Inline managers learn to treat their employees better in order to reduce the quitting percentage.

got be willing to take risk in life and not to worry about failure(to a certain extent)

There are no guarantees when it comes to starting your own business. Even if you have the greatest idea since the dawn of humankind, if developed using the wrong business plan, failure will most likely ensue. To be successful, you need to do a large amount of research about a variety of variables. With good research and a positive attitude, you'll be better equipped to succeed. Hard work and dedication are a must when it comes to starting your own business.

It took some serious work ethic and determination for Jim McCann to build 800 Flowers into what it is today. Working a full time job and managing several flower shops would be no small feat. Don't forget the fact that he was receiving orders all hours of the night on his home telephone. The hard work eventually paid off, and he made it big.

The Cup of Joe guy also showed that a great idea for a product is not enough at times. It all comes down to marketing and the demand for such a product.

The career changing story was kind of scary because I would hate to have gotten through all this school for networking and then realize I will possibly change my career.

1.One person's Failing business can be your business success story if you can realize and it's faults and make improvements.

2.It's said that people may change careers 2-4 times in their working lives. People most likely to switch careers are usually in their 30's or 40's and often already have a degree.

3.To be an entrepreneur, one must have a certain drive and persistence.

You need more than just a good idea to start a business. You need good planning and dedication. Asking experts for help is good, too. Any advice you get can be a great help to your fledgling business. Finally, one of the most important things to remember is that you are never too old to start a business.

the movie was very interesting i learned that you not only need the passion but you need the drive to not take no for an answer. it is interesting to me that 56% of college students want to own their own business, i am defiantly part of hat 56%. 1800flowers was my favorite video. i thought it was so interesting that he just stubbled upon flowers and thought of a 24hr service. it was crazy that he was so driven that he was taking calls at his own house and taking orders. i really hope that i can find a career i like and stick with it because in the video it was mentioned that adults in their 30s and 40s tend to seek new careers.

three things I learned where, (1) Never give up your idea and dream, even if you're seemingly ruining your credit, just think of the millions you can make to pay it all back with once you become successful. (2) ANYONE, literally ANYONE with a drive, and an idea can make it in life. That's one of the great things about living in this country. You don't have to settle for being born into poverty, in many aspects poverty is a choice. (3) And I would hate to change my career and waste all this money on school.

Joe-to-Go never gave up. It doesn't matter how old you are or if you have disabilities, if you have a great idea, you gotta strive for it and never give up. If you start up a business and if that's the main source of income, and you think your business is not going anywhere, just be patient and your time will come and you will be successful. It's takes a lot of planning and money to start up your own business, it's not easy at first, but once you get a hang of it, it will come in ease.
